The Details That Made This House a Home

The Details That Made This House a Home

Every design project tells a story, but it's often the smallest details that leave the biggest impression. From custom upholstery to thoughtful fabric pairings, these are the design moments that brought personality, warmth, and character to one of our recent projects.

The dining room was home to several timeless furniture pieces our clients already loved, making them the perfect foundation for the design. To give the space new life, we embraced a color-drenched approach, wrapping the room in rich blue paint and coordinating wallpaper. The layered blue palette created depth and drama while  allowing the existing furnishings to feel refreshed and intentional within their new surroundings.

Rather than replacing what was already there, thoughtful color choices transformed the room into something that feels both familiar and entirely new.

In the primary bedroom, custom details create a sense of cohesion and comfort. A tailored valance above the bed serves as a focal point, while coordinating drapery echoes the fabric used on the headboard, side rails, and footboard. Repeating the pattern throughout the room creates a layered, collected look that feels custom in every sense of the word.

The result is a bedroom that feels polished, intentional, and effortlessly inviting.

Upstairs, the goal was to design a guest space that felt equally functional and inviting—a place where visitors could settle in and truly relax. The custom gingham twin beds anchor the room, filling the space beautifully while providing comfort for guests of all ages.

To bring personality into the design, we layered a whimsical vine wallpaper throughout the room and pulled its soft green tones into carefully selected accents, including custom pillows, a statement lamp, and coordinating lampshade. The repetition of color creates a cohesive feel, while details like contrast piping on the headboards add an extra layer of charm.

The result is a guest room that feels thoughtful, welcoming, and full of character—proving that even the smallest spaces can make a lasting impression.

For the breakfast nook, we wanted to create a space that brought joy and a sense of ease, whether the client was enjoying a meal at the table or preparing one just steps away in the kitchen. A light green banquette sets a cheerful foundation, layered with blue and green accent pillows featuring playful cherry details.

To create a cohesive look, we repeated the cherry fabric on the sconce lampshades and custom valances above each window. Carrying the pattern throughout the space draws the eye upward, adds visual interest, and creates a collected feel that connects every corner of the room.

The result is a breakfast nook that feels charming, inviting, and full of personality—a reminder that the smallest details often make the biggest impact.

Design is often found in the details. Whether it's a fabric repeated in an unexpected place, a custom upholstery moment, or a carefully chosen color palette, these thoughtful touches transform a house into a home that feels collected, personal, and full of life.
